One of the best hires we’ve ever seen’. That’s the verdict on Zak Wagman, our nominee for this award, from senior managers in Grayling’s award-winning public affairs team. Since his arrival as a newcomer to the industry last year, Zak has consistently delivered at a level far beyond that of a freshly-minted Account Executive – resulting in his richly deserved recent promotion.

Whether it’s rescuing a crucial client campaign from last-minute bureaucratic obstacles, securing the Shadow Chancellor to speak at a roundtable for Tier 1 businesses, effortlessly organising a parliamentary reception for 100 people, or presenting confidently to C-suite executives, Zak’s maturity, lateral thinking, analytical intelligence and proactive attitude are what we believe set him head and shoulders above the competition. Despite being new to public affairs, he has demonstrated an entrepreneurial approach to new business and a willingness to go the extra mile in supporting his colleagues – whether as a buddy to new joiners or as an exemplary team player.

What makes Zak arguably stand out the most is his spirit, bravery and determination. Nowhere was this more in evidence than this summer. Trapped in Israel with his family when flights were grounded, Zak continued to deliver top-quality work and even conduct live television interviews, displaying poise and courage that have been an inspiration to the entire company.
