One In Fifty

LSEG Risk Intelligence

One in Fifty is LSEG Risk Intelligence’s content-led campaign exposing the hidden global crisis of child identity theft. A crime that is typically undetected for years, causing lifelong financial and emotional harm. The campaign set out to change industry understanding of this problem and position LSEG as the leading voice on identity risk.

The campaign combined a white paper with a documentary film centred on Renata, a current LSEG employee, whose identity was stolen as a child and used fraudulently for years. This story provided a human perspective to an otherwise technical financial crime issue.

The trailer, film and report were deployed across owned channels, partner platforms and media with interviews, podcasts, conference speaking slots, webinars and a live premiere at Money20/20 Europe.

The content rapidly transcended corporate channels. In Brazil, where Renata’s case originated, the documentary triggered national conversation following coverage on TV Globo and Fantástico, leading to heightened political scrutiny. The Brazilian Senate subsequently confirmed forthcoming reforms to the Civil Code to introduce children’s independent identity rights, citing recent media attention and victim testimonies as core evidence.

The film also received international creative recognition, securing official selection at the 2025 HollyShorts Film Festival and the 2025 IndyShorts International Film Festival, two of the world's leading short-film programmes. These accolades underscore the campaign’s cultural resonance and narrative strength beyond the financial crime sector.

One in Fifty demonstrates how high-integrity content can spur debate, influence policy and meaningfully shift public understanding of a hidden global harm.
