Together for a unified, stronger European capital market

V+O Greece (SEC Newgate Group)

Client: Euronext

Euronext’s acquisition of the Athens Stock Exchange was a milestone project with great significance on Greece’s capital market, investor community, and national competitiveness within Europe’s financial ecosystem. The project unfolded in a fast‑moving and highly sensitive environment, requiring absolute confidentiality, precision, and strategic agility.

Given this context, the central insight guiding our approach was that regulatory accuracy alone would not ensure success: stakeholder trust would be equally decisive. To achieve this, we developed tailored strategies for each phase of the process, crafting compelling narratives that articulated the strategic value of the transaction. Our work included dynamic publicity planning, targeted stakeholder engagement, the orchestration of 6 high‑profile CEO interviews and a major press conference. Throughout, we maintained continuous dialogue with journalists while safeguarding the project with integrity. In parallel, we launched a comprehensive advertising campaign to inform and mobilize stakeholders regarding the tender offer. This multi‑layered approach ensured that every audience, from institutional investors to the broader market, understood the significance and benefits of the transaction.

The outcome validated the strength of the strategy: the public offer concluded with a 74.25% acceptance rate, demonstrating that communication was not supportive but instrumental to its success. This project shows how establishing trusted, transparent and credible communication, combining foresight, disciplined execution, and measurable results, can shape market perception, influence stakeholder behavior, and contribute decisively to the achievement of major and complex transactions.
